Service & User Experience Designer

Based in Georgia

Hi, I'm a UX and Service Designer with    experience leading design teams and as an  individual contributor.

Project Overview

In today's fast-paced digital landscape, Gen Z faces an overwhelming influx of disorganized news content. Through conversations with young adults across different regions, we uncovered that many in this demographic find it challenging to stay informed about current events. The lack of tailored news platforms and clear guidance on navigating various sources often leaves them skimming headlines or relying on social media for their information.

Problem
My Role

This project marked my first venture as a UI Designer, where I took charge of User Interface Design and UX Research, while also spearheading the business strategy and design system. My role involved leading a dynamic team of designers and strategists to create a product that resonates with Gen Z's unique needs.

Project Planning

With just 10 weeks to bring this ambitious project to life, strategic planning was crucial. As the Project Manager, I worked closely with each team member to identify their strengths and interests. This allowed us to divide roles effectively and set a timeline that balanced creativity with efficiency. Our approach ensured that we stayed on track while also allowing room for iterative improvements based on user feedback.

Problem
Research Methods
Landscape Analysis:

We explored online forums, market studies, and business journals to understand the current trends and key players in the digital news space.

Market Research:

By analyzing the target market and competitive landscape, we were able to identify opportunities for differentiation.

User Interviews:

We spoke with young adults across different regions to gain insights into their news consumption habits, preferences, and challenges.

Competitive Analysis:

We assessed existing news platforms, focusing on features, usability, and market positioning to identify gaps and opportunities for The Tea.

USER RESEARCH

32 million single American women went traveling at least once over the past year.

The search volume for the term ‘female solo travel’ across all search engines has increased by 62% over the past 3 years.

Travel companies dedicated to women-only customers have hugely increased by 47% in 2021

65% of women in the US have vacationed without their partner.

Branding

The mid-fidelity prototype focused on both mobile and wearable interfaces, ensuring that users could seamlessly access critical features in times of need.
